Senior Vice President | Financial Services | 15+ PQE | Mumbai

Reporting to the Head, you will be responsible for:

• Provide expert legal advice on corporate governance, risk management, and compliance with applicable regulations (issued by RBI, SEBI, IRDA etc.).
• Oversee legal aspects of lending operations, ensuring adherence to NBFC regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, data privacy laws, and fair lending practices.
• Lead legal strategies for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships, including due diligence and contract negotiations across business verticals.
• Manage legal risks across the company's products, services, and digital platforms, advising on data protection, privacy, and fintech regulations.
• Oversee corporate transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements with stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
• Guide the organization on strategic litigation, pre-dispute resolution mandates, legal notices and regulatory inquiries, managing external counsel as needed.
• Oversee the mortgage business in reviewing and approving the title of the properties offered as security.
• Oversee the treasury transactions in compliance with the applicable laws and advising on the fund raising structures and documentation including loan, NCDs, sub-debt, masala bonds, external commercial borrowings, direct assignments, securitization (standard assets and non-performing assets) etc.
• To provide strategic update to the senior management on the deliverables and progress of the legal team and creating a governance framework by enabling adequate processes and policies for the organization.
• Lead and mentor the in-house legal team, fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams (finance, compliance, technology) and guide various businesses in standardising the required documentation and helping launch new products.
• Ensure the company's compliance with evolving legal frameworks across urban, rural, digital and housing business segments.
